Circle Pines Center Summer Camp Staff Positions

Assistant Director: Facilitate all staff and activity schedules, assist in implementation of staff training, provide leadership and support for counselors, help with camper discipline, ensure resources are available and ready for program use, and help manage the office and co-op store. Also assists with unit counseling duties and leading and supervising activities.

Unit Counselors: Direct care and supervision of campers in all phases of the camp day. Will also help lead and supervise morning work projects, afternoon activities, and evening programs. Counselors work with one of the following units: Acorns (ages 8-10), Juniors (ages 11-13), Youthies (ages 14-17), or Counselors in Training (ages 16-17).

Unit Heads: Direct care and supervision of campers in all phases of the camp day, will also have the opportunity to lead work projects, daily activities, and evening programs. Additional responsibilities include leadership, scheduling, and peer support of the counselors in the unit.

Waterfront Director: Must be at least 21 years of age and have current lifeguard and CPR certifications. The waterfront director is responsible for all waterfront activity (swim lessons, free swim, canoeing, etc.) and safety. Also assists with leading and supervising other camp activities where possible.

Waterfront Assistants: Help the waterfront director with life guarding and all other waterfront activities including swimming lessons. Must have current lifeguard and CPR certifications. Position would be combined with being a unit counselor.

Health Officer: Responsible for health and safety of campers and staff. Performs health screenings, maintains infirmary, and provides necessary first aid treatment and information. This person must be 21 and have current certifications in Responding To Emergencies (RTE) and CPR. RN is preferred.

Kitchen Manager: Must be 21 or older. Responsible for planning menus, ordering food, supervising kitchen assistants, preparing meals for up to 100 people, and kitchen cleanup.

Kitchen Assistants: Assist kitchen manager in all kitchen duties. Also assists with unit counseling duties and leading and supervising activities.

Maintenance Assistants: Help to keep grounds and facilities maintained as well as leading work projects and activities with campers. Also assists with unit counseling duties and leading and supervising activities.

Cleanliness Coordinator: Responsible for cleanliness of dining hall, bathrooms, and other common areas of camp. In charge of leading "nitty-gritty" (cleanliness) work crew. Also assists with unit counseling duties and leading and supervision of activities.

Volunteer Coordinator: Keeps a schedule of all volunteers working on camp, orients them to rules and programs/work they will be doing. Also assists with unit counseling duties and leading and supervising of activities.

Internships and Work Exchange
Circle Pines also offers internships and work in exchange for room and board throughout the year, from one week to 9 months. Work includes: organic gardening, facility maintenance, grounds keeping, trail maintenance, cooking, cleaning, data management, and guest services.
